The guys talk about Barry Allen and Reed Richards smoking habits and why Wally West still matters.
Bruce gets enraged about changing names from comic to screen, Joe looks for logic in the New 52, while Mike cries over cartoons and comics.
Should there be different artist on the same books? Will Wally West return to the Mark Waid glory days? And is the best X-O Manowar story a golden brick laid by Bruce after a night of Mexican food?
WE ARE CHANGING THE NAME OF THIS DAMN THING SO DON’T BOTHER LIKING US ON FACEBOOK OR FOLLOWING US ON TWITTER. ITUNES… I DON’T KNOW ABOUT THAT THING EITHER…
These questions and more will answered on the latest and penultimate chapter of The Breakins.

The Star Wars; Mike’s take on the first take of some movies we have all seen…
Batman Vs Superman (or whatever it’s called) leads to some interesting conversation… Like Brett Ratner directing the Justice League Movie. Weird. And we fix Wonder Woman.

Check out The Break-Ins on Facebook here!
We also have a Twitter now as well!
Lastly we have a new iTunes page because iTunes is screwy & never answers their emails. Hate.
Lastly Bruce talks about Pretty Deadly and finds it to be a 5.5 out of 10… but thinks it would make a good play, use not a comic.
This is indeed a start to the new year Mike. Thanks.

Bruce really liked this book… a lot.
We name drop Eric Shonborn… but mainly his height.

Season of the witch; Mike’s favorite Halloween movie and Bruce’s favorite Nic Cage movie.
Podcast: Play in new window | Download
Summer Glau is not attractive. She’s almost a toad… perhaps the real life Abe Sapian and Mike is still attracted to her. Ew.
What would a black and white Hellboy look like?
Mike is lucky in love and finding sweet comics for cheap! Cable and Deadpool for 50 cents!
SUPERFLY! Plug.
We talk about the prizes of our collections. What means the most to us verses what’s worth the most.
We even talk a bit about the origin’s of Cable.
The many erotic looks of Wolverine and Venom by Sam Keith!
Comics may try to grow up with us but we grow in different directions than comics predict. Keep trying comics. Keep trying.
Neither Mike or Bruce have anything negative to say about Hellboy; the midnight circus… except it should not be anyone’s first Hellboy book.
Bruce has things that are worth money but does not know where they are… damn.

EP 61 (The sex talk.)
This episode is for all the Ryan’s of the world!
Things said out of context are funny.
Mike always wins in the end… when it comes to numbers.
Podcast: Play in new window | Download
Bruce translates British for Mike.
Then we talk about Sex Criminals by Matt Fraction & Chip Zdarsky! We both loved it. The art, the dialogue, the ideas… all of it. It’s pretty awesome.
This leads to us talking about The Walking Dead TV show, MARVEL’s new Nexflix deals, Batman; Brave and The Bold and The Guardians of the Galaxy movie.
Bruce quotes The Tick. It’s all down hill from there.
Strength and invulnerability… do they go hand-n-hand? Do you really need a healing factor if you are invulnerable? Come on Luke Cage!
Is The Rock white? Is Vin Diesel Italian? Neither of them look like Bruce… and Mike thinks that makes Bruce a racist.
Mike is soooo confused about the Alias tv show and the Alias comic. He will not be the only one that makes this mistake.
There are no Iron Fist villains of note. None.
I would like to add that this is a very R rated podcast. We talk a lot about masturbation , seamen and other things that your grandmother would not like. Damn.
We also talk a bit about Fraction’s work on Thor and Iron Man. This leads to some chatting about hammers and Loki. We want to like Thor. Make it easier MARVEL!
Right before the end we touch on the touching awkwardness of the new Captain America trailer.

Mike and Bruce kinda’ review Iron Man 3… because Mike lives a year behind us all.
Our old movie review trails over to Identity Thief, Extract and a little bit of King of the Hill!
We end our review session with a little chat about The Black List (Hunter S. Thompson; Agent of SHIELD). It’s awesome.
O.G. (original Guardians (of the Galaxy fan)).
We talk about why Thor worked. ‘Cause the ladies!
Nazi’s; the greatest villains of all time? Which obviously leads into talk of Hellboy and Indiana Jones.
Finally we talk about Agents of SHIELD and why it doesn’t quite work. It’s like the hole in the pants of television.
Bendis; are people fans of him or fans of the characters he writes?

We seriously talk about Robin Hood movies until we get sleepy…
EP59 (KIRBY’S BITCHES!)
Mike and Bruce hit the net in search of something… and they find Bruce’s inner doctor claw voice!
Mike is proud and Bruce feels defeated. Take it or leave it.
Podcast: Play in new window | Download
Listen closely for quotes from Jack Kirby, Kevin Smith and Todd McFarlane. We bring the knowledge yo.
51 minutes of chit-chat. Notes be damned.
Mike and Bruce then review some old books. Switchblade honey; Warren Ellis’ greatest start that fizzles quickly.
We also struggle to talk about Black Mask Comics and how little we know about them.
Then we review Detales (and a bit of Daytripper) (both) by Fabio Moon and Gabriel Ba. It is amazing and educational. Wow.
We touch on Matt Fraction’s Cassanova and some Hellboy books… We are ramblers of the fantastic!
Things get worse as we start just reading from the internet to you…
The second part of this episode gets medical and personal. I’m sure you’ll love it Ryan Merrell!

Join Bruce and Mike in this new episode, that continues from the last episode, where Scott continues to brag about travelling all over the country and his awesome artwork.
Plus Bruce talks about turning out more work next year and Mike tries to find reasons to live. The kind of magic you can only expect from The Breankins.
Bruce also points out the missing bottom of an E in Scott’s comic. Bruce is kind of a dick.

EP56 (How Justin got his Dewback!)
The Cincinnati Comic Expo; Will Mike make it? How the hell is Justin going to pull off Duck Tales? Bruce asks “Mayhew’s mouth or not”?
Podcast: Play in new window | Download
Mike buys cheap comics and is a bit racist. Bruce should accept donations. Some are beyond vinyl… some are beyond Cds.
Oktoberfest is in September?
A fantastic guest list… Richard Kiel, Marina Sirtis, John Rhys-Davies, David Yost, Rob Paulsen, Nicholas Brendon, Zim & Gir, the Batmobile, the General Lee, Christine, a Dewback, the Tardis, a Daleck,!
The Baroness = still doable.
What do you buy from a hero you don’t want anything from?
Comic peps… Doug Mahnke, Christian Alamy, Jeff Lemire, Yanick Paquette, Mike McKone, Greg Horn, Craig Boldman, Eddy Barrows, Art Baltazar, Scott DM Simmons, Scott Bachman, Kevin Meinert, Sean Forney, Scott Story, Darryl Banks, so many people!
Activities/events… cosplay, kids-con, sic-fi speed dating, many panels, droid hunt, geek prom, bricks by the banks, lots of stuff!
With the right glove Bruce could be Mike’s villain.
It’s both Saturdays kids!
Mike finds Dolph Lundgren “physically appealing” and wants him to “light his cigarette”. Weirdo. He also called him statuesque. Really weird. Then he talks about “double teaming” Dennis Rodman. Geez Mike!

Mulan came out in 1998. Mike just saw it.
Galaxy Quest; a Star Trek movie?
Bruce loves British TV, Justin watches some movies and Mike does Mike things in his down time.
Then we finally get to the meat of the podcast; race & sex. Boom. We discuss the use of slurs in comics. It gets as deep as it can when three white guys in their early 30s talk about minorities.
Bruce can come up with a reason to Justify anything, Justin has standards. Wow.
Green Lantern did get mentioned again!
Sam Keith should have been a woman.
Justin and Mike are products of Feminism. Bruce is the product of Hill-Billyism.
About an hour of laughs, insight & phobias.

Listen to Ryan tell his adventures in Georgia, the love he has for all things Death Note, and be amazed that his hero is a man who rips other people off. You’ll also find out that Mike and Bruce like to destroy Terry Austin’s good name, who would want to stay with comics or be a cog in the Hollywood machine, and learn how the best stories are shared in 140 characters or less.
It’s creative, it’s wild, it’s (surprisingly) 100% sans Green Lantern: It’s the Break-ins.

EP51 (Superwaste of Nuclear time!)
The 51st time is the charm! Episode 36 of the Kickstarter Chronicles… some Super talk & such. Bruce , Mike & Justin run down all that’s known about the upcoming Man of Steel movie and then drags us through all the previous Superman movies. They never use the word “Duper”, swear. There needs to be an official time period that you do not have to worry about spoilers before Bruce kills Justin. Also, stupid things do not count. Does it really matter what country actors are from? Bruce still hates Hal Jordan. We predict the ending of a movie we have never seen! Who will be right?
Podcast: Play in new window | Download
The sports guy Mike was talking about is “Steve Lombard”!
It’s the brain meets the eye with Snyder & Nolan… Who will have more influence?
He’s got a bad case of The Kents!
“It’s too late Luther!”
Bruce is only afraid of things a man should be afraid of. Yep.
Richard Donner gets name checked about 100 times. We have issues.
Seriously we talk about every single Superman movie for over an hour. Remember (with us) what it’s like to believe a man can fly… then throw cellophane from his chest, and fight Richard Pryor & beat up an evil clone of Shadow Stephens… then he abandons his kid.
We all do bad impersonations of each other & hate comics. Boom.

EP50 (We are the Brok-ens!)
After doing this over 50 times we finally confuse Mike by recording a podcast… it gets crazy, weird & a little cross dimensional… It’s The Break-Ins! All of us (alright, a version of us) discuss the Justice League movie & the third annual Drexel Comic & Sex Toy Convention! This part has to be heard to believed…
Special thanks to Scot D.M. Simmons, Chris Pritchard & Ryan Drake!
In other news; Will we ever release the worst sounding podcast ever? Do you care? How is it always about sadness & acceptance with us? And Justin has the best line ever “He just what himself”!

Special sketch by Justin to celebrate this milestone in our tiny lives. Woot.
We ask the tough questions… Why are people listening? Are we even listening to each other? How is Mike like a trany prom queen? We find out some obvious stuff as well; Bruce is mean and Justin is defeated. Mike pays a bit more attention to what Bruce says than he should.
We also review the first issue of Bedlam… or at least Mike does. He lives so far away!
It ends quickly… like most things on a Friday night for these guys.

Mike is now a man!
In this amazing episode; We discuss Justin’s ever shrinking hands,Mike finally watches a movie that’s 15 years old, creates a female planet for Star Trek (we all three talk about ST:TNG way to much). Bruce argues that the alien in Super8 is evil and adorable, Mike & Justin talk about the DC Comics mini-movies & how they love them and then review each & every one of them… all of that is just in the first 15 minutes!

What if the JLA all got together & had kids? The Break-Ins review “Jupiter’s Legacy” & we find out that Mike watches a bit to much of the CW. Spoiler; 2 of us will not be buying the 2nd issue…
We then discuss Copyright Laws (because they are exciting)! Will Superman ever be of the people?

Once again we find ourselves without Justin Wasson. In his absence Mike & Bruce chat a bit about how this new GI Joe movie looks as if was based on a cartoon of some sort. We get to see Bruce grow to love & even defend the Green Lantern carton but still be a dick when it comes to how to pronounce names of people he will never meet. And Mike showed up for most of the show. Well over half. Big whoop.
Then for a few 20 minutes we talk to the most attractive man any of us dumb schlubs know… Chris Pritchard! Chris & Bruce discuss Sunsara, Chris’s new comic & how it went from contest to a Kickstarter sensation, why their are no Russian women named Smith & they start a line of custom painted ninja stars. Bruce also name drops Robert Kirkman.
We just expect less from Marvel. That’s the way it is. Sorry.

EP46 (Paint Drying: Part II!)
We are always recording…
Mike, Justin & Bruce ask themselves the question; what if we died in this the fourth volume of issue six of The Break-Ins! Justin admits he is dying but Mike won’t commit… big surprise. Bruce threatens to kill Mike so many times this episode… So consider this a tribute to tributes to the dead. It’s funnier that way!

While Bruce is purely motivated by spite Justin admits that he lacks the motivation to ever finish his comics so Bruce & Mike should do it for him. Wow. Things lighten up as we talk over all the dead Bat-kids in comics, cancelled cartoons & that leads us to our NEW weekly Green Lantern update! Can you really get to much of a good thing?!?

This could have ended in just a minute according to Justin but Episode 44 or Season Four Episode 4 starts with a boom! We sat Farewell to Geoff Johns, we hardly knew about his creepy obsession with colors & the dudes that wore them. We discover that Mike & Bruce are both old men but in drastically different ways and learn how to go grey the comics way!
It’s over forty minutes of Bruce knowing nothing about the Green Lanterns, some kids comic talk (keep them away from comic shops) all while Justin gets in a nap!

Bold hold on for volume four, episode three of The Break-Ins. I don’t know if that will ever catch on Mike!
It starts with techno-lady pop & ends with a joke that’s at least 47 years old! We make fun of each other as Justin sits back smugly judging Mike for his fear of all things Shatner & Bruce does the unthinkable… He let’s them talk. It’s almost an hour long & still shorter than each of last years episodes. Boom babies. Boom.
In case none of you could notice. I lost my notes for this podcast. I blame the cleaning people at my place of work.

We talk Star Wars… for a long, long time.
The tradition of mentioning Zoidberg continues in this episode as we debate who Nic Cage should be to ruin the new trilogy, we wonder if the he first movie will just be a two hour countdown to someone receiving a medal & we learn a bit about analogies. It’s our 40th (but your 39th) episode & we started off way more racist than we intended!
Our Love Boat / Star Wars crossover sounded like the worst idea of the night right up until i mentioned The Little Prince & no one knew what i was talking about. Yikes.

EP37 (The yawning man / The age of villany)
The Break-Ins review The Dark Knight Rises! Bruce is negative, Justin is positive. They both get confused over names, details & over half the movies gets forgotten! No one is respected… Bruce runs a half-ass pole about the origin of Superman. Justin argues that the timeline of Nolan’s Batman movie is not horse shit & we seriously debate how old the character Bane would be in the movie. In between this, that & a man falling asleep slowly they also talk about Star Trek & Sherlock Holmes. It’s The Break-Ins episode 37!

EP36 (Bam, genius, crazy awesome / Seriously, buy our stuff)
This show has friends & hate mail. Weird… almost as weird as the fact that Mike & Justin being the same person. Who knew? Justin only sells trades of Tim Reisen to people who already own the first few issues as singles! Crichton yells for more Gemini Cereal, like most kids. And we all learn to avoid Justin’s site at all cost.

EP35 (The frog-swallowers union / Now with fake Nova)
Before we sit back & enjoy our Criterion Edition of Armageddon we did a little podcast for & about the fine people at the Derby City Comic Con. This is that podcast…
We start off by realizing that Justin isn’t here. Our hearts go out to him & the fine men & women feeding him today. Since Justin couldn’t make it we decided to talk about his next project in some detail. You can find out a little more about Tim Reisen & Co. right here. We then moved on to Bruce’s sexual lessons of comic book sales; this was a short conversation (obviously). After lieing to Mike about Fabio Moon’s gender-swapping relaunch of G.I. Joe Bruce lied again about the first annual Lou Ferrigno Convention, or the Lou-Con for short.
Seriously though, Mike & Bruce did discuss the big news from Derby City Comic Con as well as The Break-Ins final word on The Cincinnati Comic Expo. Final. So, try & sit thru the dueling sadness of these two lone podcasters as they delve into the sweet sweat of Kurt Busiek & public domain poop.

Mike, Justin & Bruce once again throw down words with Eric Banister, the purveyor of Derby City Comic Con!
We spend at little over 45 minutes talking about Shawarma, how “Jackie Brown” like our review of the Avengers should be, the ladies & how they just don’t understand sitting thru credits, Justin’s mid-podcast stroke (Scar-Jo!), Iron Man’s own personal Stilt-Man, the clearing of the throat & what it means in the audio only world & we start the countdown to Marvel’s next bankruptcy!

More fun than three guys & some comics crammed into a one-man elevator! Episode 33 brings the love all the way from Southern Indiana from the chairman/president/admiral/leader & founder of the Derby City Comic Con; Eric Banister! We talk about the con, the guests, the convention rule, regulations & teamster-ish ways for over an hour.
Mike also showed up & lead us down the path of confusion & tear soaked cancer kid comics. It gets crazy kids. There is talk about someone riding me like a horse. And pee.

Bring back Sliders as a comic already! IDW, I’m looking at you…
In this 32nd episode of the Podcast that just doesn’t know when to quit; Bruce, Mike & Justin talk to the most evil man in comics… Scott DM Simmons! We discusses headphones, Scott & Mike’s cannibal past, how no one grows up in the shadow of the Hall of Justice anymore & ask why Wilfred Brimley doesn’t do any motion capture work?
Between arguing over The Punisher vs Rorschach & how many glory holes there are on Skywalker Ranch we learn so much about our brave hosts & even braver guest… like; did you know that Scott has a “bust” collection? Well now you do! To find out even more about Scot & his deceptively clean style go to scottdmsimmons.com While your there check out your next favorite comic, the Knights of Power!

EP29 (Stop being a fan, start being a creator or Skirting T&A for BJ)
I’d like to say that this podcast is about dreams. I’d like to tell you that after this I became a better person & poured my heart & soul into something meaningful. I’d like you think highly of me but I can’t ask that of you… yet.
As of today, right now, I’m taking a 6 month break from comics! Not making them, but consuming them.
Podcast: Play in new window | Download
Some other things happen in the podcast as well… We talk about Gem City Comic Con, Justin’s commission work, digital distribution, selling illegal prints & how the new Spider-Man movie looks more like a fan fiction film!
EP28 (“Thanks for everyone” or keep your 12 & 13′s where i can see them)
It would be easy to say that this episode is about Justin’s mom Judy & what she meant to him & his work. It would be so simple to say we talked about how she inspired, motivated & scared him a little into working his ass off on some great comics over the years. All of that is true but in typical Break-Ins fashion we trailed off occasionally & stumbled into nonsense as much as heart-felt sentiment. We are human.
This episode: Bruce laughs at inappropriate moments to re-leave tension, the guys discuss the emotional significance of Justin’s work, they mention Jar-Jar/Nazi & other posters that would never sell and Justin makes the world greatest slip-up when he says “Thanks for everyone”. Maybe i read to much into that, but it moved me. We should all be thankful for each other.

This is seriously some of the saddest & funniest stuff we have ever done. Ever. I’ll let the episode speak for it’s self.
We miss you Judy.
EP26 (Verbal Jazz or AngelFire: the return!)
On this very special episode of The Break-Ins we talk to a true master of the digital arts… Chris Pritchard! He’s made his name on monsters, maidens & men with swords & now he’s tells Bruce & Justin just how he keeps his hair so silky & his teeth so white.
This first part of our almost two hour long chat with Chris finds up covering such topics as… the Hitler youth movement in Michigan, Red Robin & their billing policies, Wizard World Ohio, Sean Peen & what type of warrior he would be, & Justin’s comic… the one with the least memorable name ever!

This (second part of the) episode we discuss chairs, Batman, chairs, movies, chairs, our questionable listeners, march & how it sneaks up on you, chairs & my future as a bad writer. It’s another 40 minutes with two cranky old men & the problems they have with the rest of the planet.

They started early & finished earlier, it’s the podcast that would not be edited! Special thanks to Wheeler Hall (obviously), Matt Brassfield, Gen Rodenberry & Ace the Bear…
EP16 (X-Men: The Animated Series)
We do something a little different with this one… we are going to start reviewing X-Men: The Animated Series from the first episode on. Each episode of the Break-Ins will now be about one episode of X-Men: The Animated Series. It’s a truly bad idea & we are sticking with it!
And now for a sample of some of the interesting but useless things you will find out in our (almost two hour) exploration of cartoon mutants… In the comic version of the fight between Storm and Callisto, they dueled with knives instead of stave’s! Also the creators of the show have also altered the way Jubilee joined the X-Men. In the comic books, Jubilee met Dazzler, Storm, and Rogue in a shopping mall. In the issue, she made her way through Gateways portal back to the X-Men’s base in the Australian Outback. As featured in Uncanny X-Men #244! And lastly, in the comic books, the Sentinels were introduced in X-Men (v1) #14. In addition, were originally shown to be only slightly bigger than a normal human!

This has all been a lie.
EP15 (Burning old pencil erasers!)
With over an hour of awesomeness… the Break-Ins take podcasting up a notch & complain even more then usual!
Justin & Bruce cover such amazing topics as Robin Vs. Robin, the Hulk’s love of ladies & animals, Edward Norton & how he may be the worst person ever… how many letters there are in “Johan”, how old Spider Man is & how Odin lost an eye!

What we talk about in episode fourteen; Lou Ferrigno, Justin’s San Diego dream/nightmare, how much of a jerk Bruce is… Justin’s lies (both big & small), Rich Johnston & the power he commands… Study Work vs. Foolish Work! EP13 (The Free Avengers/Review, Don’t Do)
In this special hour long episode of the Break-Ins we talk… but in between that & some bad commercials there is Peter Gabriel music! Listen for that if nothing else.
Besides the “the man from genesis” we have some discussion on Free Comic Book Day, baby gifts, what Justin’s not doing next, what I’m reading that Justin hates & the career of Christopher Eccleston. It’s over 77 minutes of laughter, inside jokes & me yelling at my dogs to not pee on my collection of bad music. Enjoy!
